Death to the women’s movement

Give credit where credit is due: The political left has been a strong advocate for women’s rights. Equal pay, equal rights, against sexism, and passionate about seeing women break through the most rigid barriers. They seemed to promote what the scriptures said along time ago: There is no…male or female…in Christ Jesus.
However, now, we are seeing an abandonment of their platform (actually, it’s not new). They are no longer promoting the woman as an equal champion but their leftist views as the champion. Palin, is not a “real” woman because Palin believes in God, has socially right standards, and is against abortion. Palin, they say, needs to get back in the kitchen where she belongs (If Sandra Bernhard would have been a white conservative comedian and said such hateful things against Obama, would we be seeing the same type of apathy from our leftist friends? I dont know. Ask Cramer.).
By the way, I cant give you a link to Bernhard's rants. Her language forbids.

Interesting post, Mike. Not sure I understand the connection to Sandra Bernhardt, though. Did she issue some pronouncement about Palin?
And you paint "the left" with too broad a brush. If anything, the Democrats are known for their diversity and inability to narrowly define any position.
A great example of this is the article in today's paper about Bill Clinton's praise for Sarah Palin and her family values!

I would like to know what the basis is for your comments about "no longer promoting the woman as an equal champion" or that Palin is not a real woman for her religious views. You're assigning this as indicative of all non-conservatives based on what, a comedienne?
Btw, I didn't even know Sandra Bernhard was still alive, let alone still performing. You have a link to what she said that's got you so upset?

You are thinking of Sarah Bernhart, the old classical actress. Sandra B. is a stand-up comic and part-time lesbian who strives for the outrageous (and mocks liberals as much as conservatives, as I recall.)
Personally, I think Jesus promoted gender equality. Jesus did and said a lot of things that would seem to be counter to OT laws and attitudes. He fulfilled the law; and then he set us free.
And free means free.

How is someone a part-time lesbian? I thought she was bi, which makes sense, since when you look like that, you need to do whatever it takes to increase your odds of finding a partner. ;)

Sandra Bernhard's biggest attraction was always just an ugly woman trying to be funny. These Leftist women are really losing their minds. Rosanne wondered on Bill Maher's show whether McCain would take away women's right to vote. Even Maher's audience thought that was a nutso thing to think.
